Original lure development project started #4

Hello!

This is Kamimura from Hitotoki Works.

Three steps forward, two steps back

When it comes to developing lures that produce new actions, there are no more appropriate words.

As development progresses and more time passes, will we really be able to arrive at the ideal action?

At times, this anxiety can feel overwhelming.

The previous blog is here ↓

However, as more and more people on social media and from those around me expressed their expectations, I realized that I absolutely did not want to compromise on the product!!

I am enjoying the endless journey to completion.

Unfortunately, the test fishing trip was snowy...

It's already April...

Unfortunately it's snowing.

Mr. Sasaki, pictured on the left in the photo below, is known as a huge rain lover, and it always rains during his test fishing trips...

It finally went beyond rain and turned into snow.

Sasaki-san's power is incredible ^_^;

We had a pretty good feeling about the previous test model.

However, there is one thing that bothers me: the fall speed is a little slow, and it is difficult to keep it at a deep range.

Therefore, we revised the weight structure to slightly lower the center of gravity.

Furthermore, last time the body was temporarily attached to make it easier to adjust internal parts such as the weight.

This time, we firmly glued the body together and tested it out in real fishing.

It's like a completely different lure... (´;ω;`)

After gluing the body and making some adjustments to the action, it's time to go fishing!

Now, I can finally fish properly with this lure.

I was feeling very excited, but then I discovered something unexpected during my first swimming test...

yeah??

The action has completely changed...

Although it will jump sideways with a strong action, the underwater dog-walking feel that was present with small twitches has been significantly weakened.

Why??

I learned that there are various adjustments being made on site.

When I attached a counterweight (the weight on the top of the lure), I could see a slight hint of the action being similar to the last time.

Maybe I lowered my center of gravity too much...

There is a limit to how much adjustments can be made on the spot, and I decided that I would not be able to restore the previous action without re-examining the weight structure, so I went ahead and did some fishing this time as it was.

Even in this cold temperature, the lateral sliding movement is tremendous and the reaction is clearly different even when there are three of us fishing together.

The beautiful amago trout can't help but bite nonstop.

Seeing the fish react in ways you've never experienced before is just too much fun!!

This was definitely the most difficult challenge I have faced since starting Hitotoki Works.

There is still a long way to go...

However, I believe that once we overcome that barrier, an unknown world will open up, and I would like to continue creating the best lures.

This fishing test is also available on YOUTUBE!

Please take a look.
