The fields around Shizuoka Prefecture, where Hitotoki Works is located, are different from those in Tohoku and Hokkaido, and are a field under a lot of pressure.

 

 

How to get trout to bite in a high-pressure field...

 

 

Especially since the year before last, I have been buying and trying out lures from all kinds of manufacturers and have noticed something.

 

 

Even among flat-casting action , the sideways jumping action that occurs unexpectedly only when various conditions such as the current and rod work are just right can easily catch the attention of even the most experienced trout.

 

 

I remembered an experience I had a long time ago when amago trout that didn't react to minnows went crazy when I tried a side-sliding rockfish lure, and my belief in the effectiveness of the side-jumping action went from hypothesis to certainty.

 

 

The rockfish lure moved too fast and was too big for me to hook... ^_^;

 

 

 

This sideways jump action.

 

 

To put it simply, it has a large sideways sliding action similar to the dog walking action of a pencil bait .

 

 

However, it is almost impossible to artificially create this sideways jumping action with any lure currently on the market.

 

 

Is it possible to somehow create a lure that artificially produces a sideways jumping action?

Consult with a professional who has left a major lure manufacturer and is already working as a lure maker!

Designer: "It's not physically impossible... but..."

 

 

Me: "But?"

 

 

Designer: "It might not appeal to everyone"

 

 

As I listened to the story, I was told that the sharpness of the reeling action may become weaker.

 

 

There are already some great ready-made lures available for simple reeling + the occasional flat lure.

 

 

Char will bite even with such a lure.

 

 

The purpose of the lure we are developing this time is to

 

①How to turn on the Amago (Yamame) trout that doesn't bite easily

 

② Keep that switch on

 

3) And increase the opportunities for them to use their mouths .

 

 

The underwater dog walk is what makes this possible, and it's a new action that's more of a sideways jump than a flat shot!!

 

 

We received a lecture on what kind of action can be achieved by adjusting the lure's body, lip shape, line eye, and weight.

 

 

Decide on a design plan

I'm also a rod designer, but I have no artistic talent - in fact, I have poor artistic skills...

 

 

While creating the ideal action, I drew with staff member MINA while trying out different cool designs! (^^)!

 

 

I tried to make it a tough design that is typical of Hitotoki Works (lol)

 

 

 

 

Based on the design proposal, a handmade plastic lure was completed at a later date!

 

 

 

 

Since this is meant only to show the action, painting etc. is kept to a minimum.

 

 

Still, it's cool.
